Jalapeño Steak

This recipe makes the best steak. Despite what you might think it actually is not spicy at all.  Be sure to wipe off all of the jalapeño before grilling them unless you enjoy getting tear gassed (I'm not joking)... Opposed to blending the jalapeños like the recipe called for, I simply chopped them finely.

Steak Recipe:

  • 4 jalapeno peppers, stemmed
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cracked black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon coarse salt
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 1/2 pounds top sirloin steak

  1. Combine jalapeños, garlic, pepper, salt, lime juice and oregano in a blender. Blend until smooth.
  2. Place steak in a shallow pan or large resealable plastic bag. Pour jalapeno marinade over the steak, and turn to coat. Cover pan or seal bag; marinate in the refrigerator 8 hours or overnight.
  3. Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat, and lightly oil the grill grate.
  4. Drain and discard marinade. Grill steak 5 minutes per side.
  5. After taking the steak off the grill it should still have much of its juices.  Keep them on the plate and use it instead of steak sauce.

Green Bean Recipe:

  1. Pour 1 Tbsp vegetable oil in cooking pan
  2. Combine green beans, salt to taste, 1 tsp garlic, covered over high heat
  3. Cook for 7 minutes or until done
